The Campkin's Story
The Campkin family name literally translates to “family that camps.” The business was established in 1973 in Pickering by Lawrence “Laurie” Campkin and his son Brad, reflecting this camping heritage. Brad acquired a 50% partnership in 1988, the same year operations relocated to Myrtle Station in North Whitby. Following Laurie's death in 1991, Brad assumed full ownership and became actively involved in industry associations.
Since 1988, Campkin's has maintained a comprehensive parts and accessories inventory. The company added a new facility in 2004 and operates over 6,000 square feet of service space. The dealership accepts major RV club discounts, runs an ecommerce parts platform through a partnership with RV Care, and provides customer orientation programs.
Roland Goreski joined the team in 1999 and progressed through various roles to become General Manager in 2006. Brad and Roland navigated the 2008–2009 economic challenges together. In 2011, “Campkin's expanded its property to six acres,” enabling a larger sales lot and additional service storage.
Brad retired in 2014, with Roland taking over as owner. Roland maintained the company's dedication to community involvement and industry participation. Jamie McMillan, a longtime customer, joined sales in 2011, advanced to Sales Manager in 2020, and became General Manager in 2022. As of January 1, 2026, Jamie McMillan is the owner.
Over five decades, Campkin's has received numerous accolades, including Canadian and Ontario RV Dealer of the Year awards, among many others. The company prioritizes helping customers create camping memories through staff who are passionate RVers themselves.
